Step back in time to 1919 as the Old Courthouse Square is transformed into village with merchants, cowboys, miners, carpetbaggers and pioneers. The Inverness Founders Day event features a curated exhibit at the Old Courthouse Heritage Museum and video recollections at the Valerie Theatre with long-time residents sharing their memories of a bygone era. The Courthouse Square will buzz with old-timey merchants, period entertainment and costumed characters. The opening ceremony starts at 9:30 a.m. Following the opening, is the reenactment of “the Night the Court House was Stolen” by the Citrus County Historical Society.
