Robert Taylor, a Citrus High School graduate, recently advanced to a U.S. Open sectional qualifier, held June 3 at the Ritz Carlton Members Club in Bradenton.

Nine years ago, Robert Taylor graduated from Citrus High School and headed to Brevard Community College. After two years there, he took his golfing talents — he had been the Chronicle’s Boys Golfer of the Year — to Florida Golf Coast University, playing for two years under the tutelage of Jim Suttie.
