Proving his worth

Most athletes and competitors just want an opportunity to prove their stuff.

That’s exactly what Beverly Hills native Jesse Lepore got this year as a sophomore starter in the University of Miami rotation, after posting a 1.93 ERA in 14 innings out of the bullpen as a freshman.

The hard-throwing right-hander answered the call in overwhelming terms, going 9-0 with a 2.20 ERA on 13 starts as the mid-week starter.
