Martha Machado has a morning routine.
She makes coffee — “Cuban coffee” — for her husband of 26 years, Jose, before he goes to work for the state forestry.
Then she gets her sons ready for school. Her oldest, Miguel, drives himself to College of Central Florida. She drives her youngest, 16-year-old Diego, to his private Christian school in Inverness.
Then Machado gets down to work. And work for her is finding work.
