Ready to respond

LECANTO — The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office’s Fire Rescue division Friday launched “enhanced services” to respond to life support emergencies.

The new service is meant to be complementary to what Nature Coast EMS does when medical emergency calls are made to dispatch, Fire Rescue Chief Larry Morabito said.

Morabito and Deputy Chief Jim Goodworth also unveiled a smaller, quicker, more efficient vehicle called “the squad” to initially serve the far-flung areas of the county.
