County moving toward universal garbage pickup

For the third time in nearly 30 years, Citrus County commissioners are moving toward providing universal garbage pickup service to residents.

Citing the need to reduce illegal dumping while providing cost savings to thousands of residents at the same time, commissioners on Tuesday took the first step in a journey that they hope will lead to universal garbage and recycling residential pickup in three years.
