Carnahan tops Webb; Kitchen unseats Kenney

Change rang loud on the county commission in Tuesday’s primary election but not the school board.
Citrus County voters elected Scott Carnahan to the county commission in District 4 while Republicans knocked board Chairman John “JJ” Kenney out of office in favor of former Crystal River mayor Ron Kitchen, who faces no-party affiliation candidate Michael “Joey” White in the November election.
School board incumbents Thomas Kennedy, Sandy Balfour and Linda Powers all were elected to office.
In the Fifth Judicial Circuit judicial race, incumbent Sandy Kautz was knocked from office.
