Commissioner Scott Adams lost his bid for a second term in Tuesday's District 5 Republican primary, losing to retiring Citrus County Sheriff's Deputy Brian Coleman.
Former Florida Veterans Affairs Director Mike Prendergast won the Republican primary for sheriff.
Jeff Kinnard won the county commission District 1 primary.
Sandy Counts finished first in the school board District 4 race, but because she did not win more than 50 percent of the vote she faces second-place finisher Bill Murray in the Nov. 8 election.
