A pair of Homosassa women were killed and two others, including a young girl, were seriously injured Friday when two cars collided in Levy County.

At about 11:05 a.m., 32-year-old Jessica Lea Raquet and her passengers, 55-year-old Joy Lea Raquet and 9-year-old Mylea Raquet, all of Homosassa, were traveling north on County Road 345 in a Toyota Corolla, approaching the intersection with C.R. 320, near Chiefland, according to a Florida Highway Patrol crash report released Monday.

Jakob Allen Johnson, 17, of Bronson, was driving a Honda Civic east on C.R. 320, approaching the intersection with C.R. 345. Johnson passed the stop sign, went into the intersection and struck the driver’s side of the Raquets’ car.

Jessica and Joy Raquet were pronounced dead at the scene. Johnson and Mylea Raquet were transported to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville with serious injuries.

No patient-status information on Jakob Johnson and Mylea Raquet was available Monday, according to the hospital.
