HOMOSASSA — The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest Thursday in the home invasion and beating of 90-year-old Bill Lisiecki.
According to reports, Shane J. McGlone, 38, 6659 W. Park Drive, Homosassa, is charged with home invasion and battery on a person 65 and older. No bond was allowed.
Lisiecki is McGlone’s neighbor.
Investigators responded to a store clerk who had surveillance video fitting the description of McGlone on the night of the crime. The footage showed McGlone returning items to the store for a cash refund.
Meanwhile, another witness reportedly came forward about the robbery and said the clothing he allegedly wore had been burned in a wheelbarrow in his backyard.
Officials were also investigating McGlone on an unrelated crime. McGlone reportedly became irate about the police scrutiny and called the sheriff’s office to register his displeasure.
Further investigation of McGlone revealed he had an open warrant from Hernando County and was detained. Lisiecki was watching as McGlone was being detained and frantically tried to get the attention of officers and reportedly told them it was McGlone who robbed and beat him.
Investigators were also able to confirm that clothing was indeed burned in the wheelbarrow the witness led them to.
Last Tuesday, investigators said the elderly man told them a young white male broke into his home, roused him from deep sleep early Tuesday morning, demanded his wallet, then punched him in the face several times because he was not producing a wallet fast enough.
Lisiecki told deputies the suspect then had him in a headlock and kept raining more punches on him. He also told authorities the suspect had a ski mask on, but during their struggle his mask came off and he was able to see the younger man’s face. He described clothing the suspect wore, which reportedly matched what was on the surveillance footage and what one of the witnesses told them.
Lisiecki told reporters Friday he “gave it all” in his tussle with McGlone.
“I bit as hard as I could down to the gums, because I have false teeth, as hard as I could trying to break his fingers,” he said.
Lisiecki also said he does not regret his decision to fight back.
“I’m not afraid to die or anything, I had a beautiful life and I live from day to day now.”

If he's found guilty, life
If he's found guilty, life without parole. No hard feelings.
A waste of air.
This has to got to be the most despicable thing I've read about in this county yet. What a piece of human excrement to attack a near-defenseless old man....wait until you get in prison, there your're gonna meet people that will not only defend themselves but they'll start it and finish it. All of us in Citrus County need to step up and watch out for our elderly neighbors, do a wellness check, offer assistance, bring them a meal, give them a ride to the doctors etc. Any act of kindness because a lot of them may have outlived thier family and /or their family is up North. Perhaps business can step up and donate security devices or alarms. Bless you Bill, hope you get well soon and never have to experience anything like that again.
And the winner is......
Active warrent in Hernando County, observed burning clothes after assaulting a 90 YEAR OLD neighbor. Definitely the winner of "Dumbass of the Week Award." Good work CCSO.
