Domestic battery arrests

* Cynthia Kunesky, 21, of Floral City, at 6:44 a.m. Aug. 14 on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery.

* Claude Callihan, 38, of Dunnellon, at 1:28 a.m. Aug. 15 on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery.

Other arrests

* Dwayne Champion, 50, of West Gulf-to-Lake Highway, Lecanto, at 8:02 a.m. Aug. 14 on two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance. According to his arrest affidavit, deputies confronted Champion at a Lecanto RV park concerning three active warrants out for his arrest. Three unprescribed hydrocodone pills, along with one clonazepam pill were found in Champion’s possession at the time of his arrest. His bond was set at $4,000.

* Dana Doss Jr., 36, of West Starjasmine Place, Beverly Hills, at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 14 for felony retail theft. According to his arrest affidavit, Doss is accused of shoplifting a 50-inch television valued at approximately $700 from the Lecanto Walmart in May. Doss reportedly left the store without being detained, but video surveillance showed the make and a partial license plate number of the vehicle he left in. Deputies were eventually able to identify both the vehicle and the suspect. His bond was set at $2,000.

* Ellie Parrish, 54, of Homosassa, at 2:45 p.m. Aug. 14 on felony charges of exploitation of an elderly or disabled person and criminal use of personal identification information.

* Timothy Trehuba, 36, of North Bluewater Drive, Hernando, at 3 p.m. Aug. 14 on felony charges of grand theft and burglary to an unoccupied structure. According to his arrest affidavit, Trehuba is accused of breaking into a neighbor’s shed and stealing his riding lawn mower. Deputies canvassed the neighborhood looking for clues and spotted matching lawn mower tire impressions at Trehuba’s residence. The lawn mower was discovered under a blanket on the west side of the home. Trehuba also faces additional charges of petit theft and burglary to an occupied structure. According to his arrest affidavit, Trehuba is accused of stealing a gas tank valued at $50 from a neighbor’s boat. The victim spotted the gas tank sitting in a wheelchair in Trehuba’s yard. Trehuba was already in custody at the Citrus County Detention Facility at the time of his arrests but was released on his own recognizance. 

* Kristopher Sellers, 32, of West Homosassa Trail, Lecanto, at 4:49 p.m. Aug. 14 on an active warrant for felony violation of probation stemming from an original charge of possession of a short barreled shotgun. 

* Larry Kilpatrick, 21, of West Avocado Street, Crystal River, at 7:08 p.m. Aug. 14 on an active warrant for felony charges of possession of a controlled substance and feeing or eluding law enforcement, along with a misdemeanor charge of knowingly driving with a suspended license (second offense). Kilpatrick was already in custody at the Citrus County Detention Facility at the time of his arrest. His bond was set at $8,000.

* Jenifer Thompson, 39, of North 30th Avenue, St. Petersburg, at 6:17 p.m. Aug. 14 on a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. She was also charged with felony violation of probation for leaving Pinellas County without approval and being arrested on a new violation. According to her arrest affidavit, Thompson is accused of causing a verbal disturbance in the Beverly Hills Winn-Dixie. She reportedly began yelling and screaming while at the service counter, complaining that she had been set up and had smoked cigarettes laced with an unknown drug. Thompson reportedly began stripping some of her clothes off while in the store, and when the deputy arrived, she was wearing a sports bra and sweat pants. Deputies said that Thompson appeared to be in a confused mental state and was unable to provide any personal information. A database search confirmed that Thompson is currently under community control house arrest in St. Petersburg.

* Kevin Allen, 47, of Hernando, at 12:57 a.m. Aug. 15 on a misdemeanor charge of battery. His bond was set at $1,000.

* Carlos Vazquez, 53, of West Pointe Villas Boulevard, Winter Garden, at 4:53 a.m. Aug. 15 on a New York warrant for being a fugitive from justice. According to his arrest affidavit, Vasquez violated his parole by using dangerous drugs. His bond was denied. 

* Solomon Cummings, 40, of West Yulee Drive, Homosassa, at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 13 on felony charges of dealing in stolen property, burglary to an unoccupied residence and false verification of ownership, along with a misdemeanor charge of petit theft. According to his arrest affidavit, Cummings, along with Laura Elliot, is accused of breaking into a victim’s home and stealing a stove, a microwave and a silverware set, valued at approximately $230. An eyewitness spotted a suspicious white van leaving the victim’s home and the sheriff’s office put out an alert for the vehicle. Deputies pulled over the vehicle containing both Cummings and Elliot later that evening. Cummings was also arrested on felony charges of dealing in stolen property, grand theft and false verification of ownership. According to his arrest affidavit, Cummings is accused of stealing aluminum panels and roofing from the victim’s home, then selling the items to a recycling business for $22.10, Records indicate he also sold a stove for $22.10 to the same recycling center. His total bond was set at $22,000.

* Laura Elliot, 27, of West Yulee Drive, Homosassa, at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 13 on a felony charge of burglary to an unoccupied residence, along with a misdemeanor charge of petit theft. According to her arrest affidavit, Elliot, along with Solomon Cummings, is accused of breaking into a victim’s home and stealing a stove, microwave and silverware set valued at approximately $230. Her bond was set at $6,000.

* Harold Haggard, 62, of North Sportsman Point, Inverness, at 2:09 p.m. Aug. 13 on a second degree felony charge of exploiting an elderly or disabled adult, with loss to the victim being more than $20,000. According to his arrest affidavit, Haggard is accused of using the victim’s monthly Social Security and widow benefit monies to pay for his own medical and daily needs costs. He reportedly has power of attorney and is responsible for the victim’s care and well-being, but has failed to make payments to the assisted living home where the victim resides. Records indicate that Haggard is currently $16,600 in arrears at the assisted living facility. Haggard reportedly admitted to not having a job for the past 12 years and living off his mother’s income.

* Katherine Naylor, 41, of Oak Hollow Drive, Beverly Hills, at 5:15 p.m. Aug. 13 on two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance, and a misdemeanor charge of petit theft. According to her arrest affidavit, Naylor is accused of shoplifting sunglasses and two granola bars, valued at $45.58, from the Lecanto Walmart. Naylor had 2.5 oxycodone pills and 11 clonazepam pills in her possession at the time of her arrest. Her bond was set at $4,500.

* Michael Russell, 23, of Dunnellon, at 5:01 p.m. Aug. 13 on a felony charge of possession with intent to sell a controlled substance and a misdemeanor charge of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $2,500.

* Amanda Shorts, 33, of East Millwood Lane, Hernando, at 7:49 p.m. Aug. 13 on a felony charge of grand theft. According to her arrest affidavit, Shorts is accused of shoplifting 72 items with a total value of $415.77 from the Inverness-area Walmart. She reportedly was also arrested last month for shoplifting more than $900 worth of items from the Dunnellon Walmart. Her bond was set at $2,000.

* A vehicle burglary was reported at 7:33 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, in the 200 block of N. Apopka Ave., Inverness.

* A residential burglary was reported at 4:28 p.m. Aug. 14 in the 6100 block of E. Turkey Trail Drive, Hernando.

Thefts

* A grand theft was reported at 6:28 p.m. Aug. 13 in the 2400 block of E. Gulf-to-Lake Highway, Inverness.

* A petit theft was reported at 9:30 p.m. Aug. 13 in the 6000 block of S. Suncoast Blvd., Homosassa.

* A grand theft was reported at 10:22 p.m. Aug. 13 in the 2100 block of W. Howard Place, Dunnellon.

* A grand theft was reported at 1:44 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, in the 40 block of S. Lee St., Beverly Hills.

* A grand theft was reported at 1:44 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, in the 40 block of S. Lee St., Beverly Hills.

* A larceny petit theft was reported at 12:20 p.m. Aug. 14 in the 1000 block of W. Main St., Inverness.

* A petit theft was reported at 4:09 p.m. Aug. 14 in the 6700 block of W. Gulf-to-Lake Highway, Crystal River.

* A vandalism was reported at 8:49 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, in the 700 block of N.E. Fifth St., Crystal River.

* A vandalism was reported at 2:01 p.m. Aug. 13 in the 900 block of N. Amelia Earhart Point, Crystal River. 

* A vandalism was reported at 8:02 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, in the 50 block of Beverly Hills Blvd., Beverly Hills.
