Domestic battery arrests

* Jason Roe, 35, of Hernando, at 6:41 p.m. Aug. 6 on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery. 

* Raymond Fulbright, 27, of Homosassa, at 4:48 a.m. Aug. 7 on a felony charge of domestic battery by strangulation. He was also charged with criminal mischief and tampering with a witness or victim.

Other arrests

* Gene Ramistella Jr., 45, of South Lincoln Avenue, Beverly Hills, at 10:25 p.m. Aug. 5 on an active warrant for felony violation of probation stemming from original charges of dealing in stolen property and false verification of ownership to a pawn broker. He was transported to the Citrus County Detention Facility from the San Diego Central Jail in California. 

* Teresa Montag, 22, of Parkside Avenue, Inverness, at 11:17 p.m. Aug. 5 on a felony charge of possession of contraband in a detention facility by an inmate and misdemeanor drug paraphernalia. According to her arrest affidavit, Montag is accused of smoking a marijuana cigarette in her jail cell. A guard reportedly witnessed her smoking the marijuana and repeatedly flush the toilet to help control the smell. The guard confiscated a small marijuana roach/butt from Montag. Her bond was set at $6,000.

* Anthony Orfin Jr., 58, of West Olive Branch Loop, Crystal River, at 12:48 a.m. Aug. 7 on a felony charge of knowingly driving with a license suspended for driving under the influence. According to records, Orfin had six current suspensions on his license, including an indefinite revocation for DUI. His bond was set at $10,000.

* Nathan Brown, 41, of Dogwood Trail Court, Ocala, at 12:09 a.m. Aug. 7 on an active Sumter County warrant for felony bribery. He reportedly received unlawful compensation or reward for official behavior. His bond was set at $5,000.

* Melanie Gregory, 41, of South Audubon Terrace, Homosassa, at 8:21 p.m. 

Aug. 6 on a felony charge of grand theft. According to her arrest affidavit, Gregory is accused of stealing $1,000 in cash and a diaper bag from a patron at the Boathouse Restaurant, where Gregory worked as a waitress. Her bond was set at $2,000.

* Zola Fannon, 27, of North Osceola Avenue, Inverness, at 9:13 p.m. Aug. 6 on an active warrant for felony violation of probation stemming from an original charge of grand theft auto. Fannon turned herself in to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office. Her bond was set at $2,000 (cash only).

* Jeffrey Huff II, 21, of East Mobile Street, Inverness, at 8:08 p.m. Aug. 6 on an active warrant for felony violation of probation stemming from an original charge of lewd and lascivious battery on a victim between the ages of 12 and 15.

* George Carter, 33, of West Oaklawn Street, Homosassa, at 6:26 p.m. Aug 6 on a misdemeanor charge of battery. According to his arrest affidavit, Carter is accused of getting into a verbal altercation with another person who resides at the same residence. The verbal dispute became physical when Carter reportedly punched the victim in the face. His bond was set at $500.

* Jacqueline Duffy, 48, of West Glynborne Loop, Crystal River, at 3:31 p.m. Aug. 6 on a misdemeanor charge of petit theft with a previous conviction of any theft. According to her arrest affidavit, Duffy is accused of shoplifting multiple pieces of Hallmark jewelry from the Inverness area Walmart She was also arrested for felony violation of probation stemming from an original charge of retail grand theft.

* Timothy Raines, 30, of East Ming Court, Inverness, at 3:51 p.m. Aug 6 on an active warrant for felony violation of probation stemming from an original charge of possession of methamphetamine.

* Margaret Murphy, 54, of Turner Camp Road, Inverness, at 3:12 p.m. Aug. 6 on an active warrant for three counts of obtaining property by means of a worthless check. Murphy was transported to the Citrus County Detention Facility from the Sumter County Jail. Her bond was set at $450.

* Stephanie Giove, 28, of Southwest Zinnia Court, Dunnellon, at 12:55 p.m. Aug. 6 on a felony charge of grand theft. According to her arrest affidavit, Giove is accused of stealing approximately $2,400 from the Crystal River Family Dollar Store, where she was employed. Giove reportedly made fraudulent returns over the course of a month, taking items from the shelf and scanning them in as returns for store credit or cash. Her bond was set at $2,000.

* Joshua Chapman, 35, of Northeast Ninth Street, Crystal River, at 11:51 a.m. Aug. 6 on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance. According to his arrest affidavit, Chapman was involved in an investigation and admittedly purchased 0.25 grams of methamphetamine. He reportedly used some of the drug before turning over the remaining amount to deputies. His bond was set at $2,000.

* A grand theft was reported at 7:49 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, in the 2700 block of S. Lecanto Highway, Lecanto.

* A grand theft was reported at 10:55 a.m. Aug. 6 in the 3200 block of S. Buckley Point, Inverness.

* A petit theft was reported at 11:09 a.m. Aug. 6 in the 1000 block of W. Main St., Inverness.

* A petit theft was reported at 12:18 p.m. Aug. 6 in the 6400 block of W. Gulf-to-Lake Highway, Crystal River.

* A grand theft was reported at 12:58 p.m. Aug. 6 in the 8300 block of W. Oak St., Crystal River.

* A petit theft was reported at 1:09 p.m. Aug. 6 in the 1900 block of N. Lecanto Highway, Lecanto.
