DUI arrest

* Derrick Gray, 47, of Northwest 34th Place, Sunrise, at 12:48 a.m. April 26 on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence. According to his arrest affidavit, Gray was traveling approximately 97 mph on a motorcycle. He was asked to perform field sobriety tests and did poorly. Tests of his breath showed his blood alcohol concentration was 0.138 percent and 0.137 percent. The legal limit is 0.08 percent. Bond $500.

* Kenneth Eiland, 41, of Northwest Highway 225, Reddick, at 10:42 a.m. April 26 on misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence and knowingly driving with a suspended license. According to his arrest affidavit, Eiland was pulled over for traveling 71 mph in a 35 mph zone. The deputy reportedly saw two open containers of Bud Light in the cup holder attached to the center console. He was asked to perform field sobriety tests and did poorly. Eiland refused breath tests to determine his blood alcohol concentration. Bond $650.

* Christopher Armstrong, 28, of South Thompson Avenue, Lecanto, at 1:58 a.m. April 27 on misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence and knowingly driving with a suspended license. Armstrong was also charged with felony violation of probation following his original arrest. According to his arrest affidavit, Eiland was pulled over for a broken tail light. He reportedly attempted to change places with the passenger of the vehicle after the deputy pulled him over. Armstrong did not perform field sobriety tests and refused breath tests to determine his blood alcohol concentration. Bond $1,000.

* Kyle Smith, 19, of Northwest Magnolia Circle, Crystal River, at 3:33 a.m. April 27 on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence. According to his arrest affidavit, Smith reportedly almost hit a crowd of people gathered in the parking lot at Fort Island Beach, who were surrounding an injured, immobilized person and a deputy who was providing first aid. In order to keep him from hitting the crowd, the deputy reportedly opened the car door, pulled Smith out from behind the wheel and engaged the emergency brake. The vehicle was stopped approximately five feet in front of the injured victim who was bleeding profusely from a head wound. Smith was reportedly unable to stand on his own so was incapable of completing field sobriety tests. He refused all lawful testing of his breath, blood and urine. Bond $650.

Domestic battery arrests

* Crystal Nepton, 26, of Dunnellon, at 3:03 a.m. April 27 on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery.

* Richard McCurdy, 41, of Inverness, at 8:47 p.m. April 27 on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery.

* Anthony Salomon, 37, of Lecanto, at 12:49 a.m. April 27 on felony charges of domestic battery by strangulation, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill.

Other arrests

* Felicia Witfoth, 23, of West Mayo Drive, Crystal River, at 10 a.m. April 25 on an active warrant for felony violation of probation stemming from an original charge of manufacturing of methamphetamine.

* Joshua Chinni, 28, of Southeast Eighth Avenue, Crystal River, at 2:02 p.m. April 25 on an active warrant for a misdemeanor charge of battery. Bond $500.

* Chantal Akins, 34, of North Ira Martin Avenue, Crystal River, at 6:50 p.m. April 25 on felony charges of grand theft and burglary to an unoccupied structure, along with misdemeanor charges of resisting an officer without violence and criminal mischief. Akins was also charged with felony violation of probation following her arrest. According to her arrest affidavit, Akins is accused of breaking into a shed and removing a metal trailer wheel and a spool of electrical wire, with a total value of $800. During the incident she reportedly damaged three fence posts, barbed wire fencing, a baseball pitching post and several sprinkler heads, with a total value of approximately $600. Akins is also accused of causing damage to the victim’s yard by driving erratically through the grass, and at one point came close to hitting the home. When deputies approached her vehicle, Akins was reportedly asleep behind the wheel in front of the victim’s home. Deputies reported she was uncooperative and attempted to flee the scene on foot. 

* Andy Martell II, 30, of South Isaac Point, Lecanto, at 7:47 p.m. April 25 on an active warrant for felony violation of probation stemming from an original charge of failing to register as a sex offender.

* David Green, 23, of East Bennett Street, Inverness, at 7:22 p.m. April 25 on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor charges of possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and knowingly driving with a suspended license. According to his arrest affidavit, Green was pulled over for failing to come to a complete stop before entering a highway. A K-9 unit alerted to possible drugs, and 6.3 grams of cocaine, 5.5 grams of cannabis and several plastic baggies were reportedly found in Green’s possession. A background check revealed that his license had been suspended indefinitely in January. Bond $2,000.

* James Godwin, 49, of Crystal River, at 10:30 p.m. April 25 on a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. According to his arrest report, Godwin is accused of causing a public disturbance at Crackers Bar and Grill. He reportedly was harassing other customers and refused to leave the bar. Bond $150.

* Stephen Anderson, 27, of West Corinas Court, Homosassa, at 9:40 p.m. April 26 on an active warrant for one count of burglary of a dwelling with battery, and two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. According to his arrest affidavit, Anderson turned himself in to to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office. Anderson was also charged with felony failure to appear stemming from an original charge of possession of cocaine, and a misdemeanor failure to appear charge in a pre-trial conference. Bond $75,000.

* Kayla Lewis Green, 22, of Southwest 28th Avenue, Ocala, at 2:08 a.m. April 26 on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. According to her arrest affidavit Lewis Green was a passenger in a vehicle pulled over for failing to come to a complete stop at a stop sign. A small piece of crack cocaine and a glass crack pipe were reportedly found in her possession. Bond $5,500.

* James Walsh, 48, of West Folger Court, Homosassa, at 4:17 a.m. April 26 on a misdemeanor charge of resisting an officer without violence. According to his arrest report, Walsh was reportedly riding a bicycle without lights. When a deputy pulled him over, he reportedly took off running. Bond $500.

* Jeramy Peal, 41, of South Rocket Point, Homosassa, at 10:09 a.m. April 26 on an active Pasco County warrant for one felony count of grand theft auto.

* Daniel Cristello, 37, of East Dartmouth Lane, Hernando, at 2:10 p.m. April 26 on an active warrant for one felony count of burglary to an unoccupied structure and one misdemeanor count of criminal mischief. Bond $2,500.

* Patrick McEachern, 22, of West Cedar Hills Street, Dunnellon, at 2:10 p.m. April 26 on an active Marion County warrant for misdemeanor charges of retail petit theft and resisting a merchant after a theft. According to his arrest affidavit, McEachern was arrested during a traffic stop. Bond $750.

* Denise Stuebs, 30, of East Buffalo Lane, Hernando, at 8:06 a.m. April 27 on an active warrant for felony violation of probation stemming from original charges of manufacturing of methamphetamine, conspiracy and possession of a controlled substance.

* Bryan Jones, 41, of East Dell Lane, Inverness, at 9:17 a.m. April 27 on an active warrant for felony violation of probation stemming from an original charge of sale of synthetic narcotics.

* Michael Murawsky, 25, of West Woodland Ridge Drive, Lecanto, at 11:32 a.m. April 27 on an active warrant for felony violation of probation stemming from original charges of burglary and grand theft.

* Kelly Choat, 22, of North Croft Avenue, Inverness, at 2:16 a.m. April 27 on an active warrant for felony violation of probation stemming from original charges of exploitation of an elderly person and uttering a forged instrument.

* Keith Hendry, 23, of Northeast Fourth Street, Crystal River, at 2:17 p.m. April 27 on felony charges of trafficking in stolen property, grand thef, and burglary to an unoccupied residence. According to his arrest affidavit, Hendry is accused of stealing approximately $7,700 in tools and other items from the victim’s garage. Hendry reportedly sold some of the items for $900 and provided a bill of sale for the transaction. Hendry was also charged with conspiracy after being pulled over in a vehicle occupied by Stacey Jones and Jordan Brown that contained stolen jewelry and a stolen safe. Bond $13,000.

* Stacey Jones, 24, of Richland, South Carolina, and Jordan Brown, 22, of West Columbia, South Carolina, at 2:17 p.m. April 27 on felony charges of burglary to an unoccupied residence and misdemeanor charges of petit theft. According to their arrest affidavits, both of the accused reportedly broke into a home and stole a safe with an undisclosed amount of cash inside it. The report stated witnesses saw the two men enter the victim’s home wearing gloves and an empty backpack and exit a short time later with the backpack appearing full. The witness also provided a description of the vehicle and noted it had South Carolina tags. A deputy spotted the vehicle a short time later and pulled it over. The backpack described by the witness was in plain sight, as were several items of jewelry that were later identified as stolen items from a separate case. Bond was set at $5,500 for each of the accused.

* Marty Taylor, 34, of South Sandpiper Terrace, Homosassa, at 7:07 p.m. April 27 on two active warrants for felony violation of probation stemming from the original charges of false verification of ownership, and possession of cocaine. Bond $2,000.

* Nathaniel Madison Jr., 32, of North Heart Path, Crystal River, at 7:15 p.m. April 27 on two active warrants for felony violation of probation stemming from the original charges of felony battery and possession of cocaine.

* A residential burglary was reported at 8:38 a.m. Friday, April 25, in the 8600 block of E. Orange Ave., Floral City.

* A residential burglary was reported at 8:50 a.m. April 25 in the 3800 block of E. Parsons Point Road, Hernando.

* A residential burglary was reported at 11:25 a.m. April 25 in the 2100 block of S. Bolton Ave., Homosassa.

* A residential burglary was reported at 3:37 p.m. April 25 in the 7300 block of N. Nathan Point, Crystal River.

* A residential burglary was reported at 4:53 p.m. April 25 in the 3600 block of E. Lake Nina Drive, Inverness.

* A vehicle burglary was reported at 9:32 p.m. April 25 in the 16000 block of W. Fort Island Trail, Crystal River.

* A commercial burglary was reported at 4:43 a.m. Saturday, April 26, in the 700 block of W. Fenway Drive, Hernando.
