The Florida Fire Marshal’s Office is trying to determine what started a massive fire Wednesday night that destroyed a utility barn and thousands of dollars in farm equipment owned by former state Sen. Charlie Dean.
No one was home and there were no injuries, but the fire gutted a 2,500-square-foot utility barn, plus antique tractors, an airboat and a “ton of farm equipment,” Citrus County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Lindsay Blair said Thursday.
A dump truck parked outside the barn was also destroyed.
