Elizabeth Blackwell, 88
Elizabeth Irene Blackwell, 88, Dunnellon, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at her residence. Private cremation arrangements under the direction of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home With Crematory, Inverness.
Virginia Marie Davis, 86, of Davison, Mich., formerly of Homosassa, died Sunday, May 4, 2008, in Mich.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Friday, May 9, 2008, at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa Springs with Pastor Alan Ritter officiating. Interment will follow at Fero Memorial Gardens.
Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the hour of service Friday.
Her husband, Hal W. Davis, preceded her in death Feb. 18, 1985. She is survived by 2 sons, Don and wife Darlene and Dickie and wife Pat; 10 grand, 25 great, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Rose ‘Lucy’ Eigner, 75
Rose “Lucy” Eigner, 75, Inverness, died Monday, May 5, 2008.
She was born August 22, 1932, in Manhattan, N.Y., to Ante and Nellie (Radman) Martinovich and moved from Long Island, N.Y., to Hudson in 1988 and then to Inverness in 2006.
Mrs. Eigner was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.
She enjoyed crafts, playing mah-jongg, loved watching QVC and adored “Miss Peaches” her grand-dog.
Her husband, Richard V. Eigner preceded her in death on Feb. 8, 2007 and recently, her brother Mike Martinovich.
Survivors include son, Richard Eigner and wife Rosanne of Long Island, N.Y.; daughters, Karen Neufeld and husband Mike of Inverness and Joanne Clarke and husband Jack of Citrus Springs; grandchildren, Suzanne Neufeld of Tampa, Michael Neufeld of Inverness, Billy Russo of Las Vegas, Nev., and Margaret Eigner of Ridge, N.Y.; and many nephews and nieces.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 8, 2008 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Fero Funeral Home, 5955 N. Lecanto Hwy., Beverly Hills with a Funeral Mass to follow at Our Lady of Grace, 6 Roosevelt Blvd. in Beverly Hills with Father Frank Lubowa officiating. Interment to follow mass at Florida National Cemetery. Fero Funeral Home, Beverly Hills, Florida.
Anna Ferrera, 81
Anna M. Ferrera, 81, Cromwell, CT, formerly of Beverly Hills, FL, died April 30, 2008 in Middlesex Memorial Hospital in Middletown, CT.
A native of Hartford, CT, she was born on Feb. 8, 1927, to the late Carmine and Domenica Alleva and came to Florida in 1985 before moving back to Cromwell.
She was of the Catholic faith and a retired hairdresser.
Survivors include her son, Joseph Ferrera Jr., Homosassa; 4 daughters, Anna Girgenti and her husband, Santo, and Linda Feitel and her husband, Howard, both of Beverly Hills; Catherine Moore and husband, William, Cromwell, CT; Rosemarie Ferrera, Beverly Hills; 9 grandchildren, 4 great and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Joseph Sr. preceded her in death June 21, 2006.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, May 12, at 10 a.m. from Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Florida National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home Sunday afternoon from 2-5 p.m.

Karl Goehler, 86
The Service of Remembrance for Mr. Karl Walter Goehler, 86, Lecanto, who died Wednesday, April 30, 2008, will be 12:30 p.m., Friday, May 9, 2008 at the Beverly Hills Chapel of Hooper Funeral Homes with Citrus Masonic Lodge #118 officiating. Interment will follow in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the Beverly Hills Chapel.
Lillian Merkel, 93
Lillian L. Merkel, 93, of Homosassa, Florida passed away May 6, 2008, at Cypress Cove Care Center.
She was born in Greensburg, Indiana, and arrived in the area in 1970 coming from St. Petersburg Florida.
She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Crystal River.
Survivors include her son Jon Merkel of Homosassa, and daughter Nancy LeMieuz of Franklin, North Carolina; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, May 9, 2008, 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Crystal River. Flowers may be sent to the church for the service. Wilder Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Rose Tuzzolino, 82
Mrs. Rose Tuzzolino, 82, Lecanto, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008 in Inverness. Beverly Hills Chapel Hooper Funeral Homes.
Arnold Wahl, 87
Arnold B. Wahl of Beverly Hills died Friday May 2, 2008, in Lecanto. He was born November 20, 1920, in Trondheim, Norway, the son of Emil and Elisbeth Wahl.
He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II and worked as a dock builder for Spencer, White and Prentice for 30 years.
He moved to Beverly Hills from New Fairfield, CT, in 1987.
He was a Lutheran and a member of the Beverly Hills Scandinavian American Club, the Beverly Hills Civic Association and the Beverly Hills Recreation Association. Arnold volunteered for Skill Bank and the Beverly Hills Festival of Lights and regularly worked out at the Beverly Hills Men’s Exercise Class.
He is survived by his wife Muriel Wahl of Beverly Hills, brothers John Wahl, Leif Wahl, Karl Wahl, and sister Helga Wahl, all of Norway, a son Eric Wahl and his wife Claudia of San Jose, CA, a daughter, Gayle Kellas of Dover Plains, NY, two granddaughters, Vanessa and Kristine Kellas of Dover Plains, NY and two grandchildren, Maim and Benjamin Wahl of San Jose, CA.
An outdoor service was held on May 6th at the Beverly Hills Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Beverly Hills Recreation Association, 77 Civic Circle, Beverly Hills, FL 34465.
He will be missed dearly.
