Jennie Buckley, 83 HERNANDO
Jennie Buckley, 83, of Hernando, FL, died April 30, 2008, at her home under the loving care of her family and Hernando-Pasco Hospice. She was born on July 13, 1924, to Ventora and Louise (Mucer) Masagno in Brooklyn, NY. An inspiration to some, a matriarch to others, she was loved by all who knew her. During WWII she was an electrician, wiring ships in Brooklyn, NY. A housewife who was the neighborhood nurse, piercing all the girls’ ears, she not only cooked professionally, she baked the best breads, Christmas cookies, and holiday meals all while giving ceramic classes that she herself taught. She gave of herself to those that were in need. Her work for the DAV was greatly appreciated by all who attended, and the food she prepared for the members was something they looked forward to each week. She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Buckley; her brothers, Nick Mesagno, Barney Mesagno, and Vincent Mesagno, as well as her sister, Clara Montgomery. Jennie Buckley is survived by her sister, Francis Montello; son Glenn Lillibridge; grandson Jason Yingst; and great-grandson Michael Yingst. Not to mention her close friend for 55 years, Mary Grace Pynn. Jennie was someone you felt comfortable with, loved by, and eager to please — you are a better person for just having known her in your life. We love you Jennie, we miss you, and your love will live on through our hearts. Services will be held at her home on Saturday, May 10, 2008, from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. All are welcome to attend, 4968 E. Slough Ct, Hernando, 34442. After the service, we ask that you please honor the family’s wishes to be alone — with family only.

Orbary McKinnon Jr., 50 DUNNELLON
Orbary McKinnon Jr., 50, of Dunnellon, FL, died Monday, April 28, 2008, in Orlando, FL. He was born on April 29, 1957, to Orbary McKinnon Sr. and Betty Davis-McKinnon in Ocala, FL. He was a lifelong resident of Citrus County. At an early age he joined the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. He attended public schools in Citrus County, FL, and was a graduate of Crystal River High School, class of 1975. Participating in football, basketball and track, he was the 1975 state champion in the 330-meter hurdles. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1975 and was honorably discharged in 1978. In the year 1992, he was joined in Holy Matrimony to Ethel M. Williams. To this union two sons were born, Orbary Randall and Cordero Trayon McKinnon. He is survived by: wife, Ethel Williams-McKinnon of Dunnellon, FL; sons, Orbary Randall and Cordero Trayon McKinnon both of Dunnellon, FL; parents, Orbary McKinnon, Sr. and Betty Davis McKinnon of Crystal River, FL; two brothers, Cornel J. Parker (Debra) of Des Moines, IA and Warren D. McKinnon of Dunnellon, FL; three sisters, Sylvia McKinnon-Wade (Henry), Marunda V. Denson (Eddie) and Tammy P. McKinnon all of Miami, FL; and one granddaughter. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, May, 7, 2008, at the Independent House of God, Which is the Church of the Living God, Pillar and Ground of the Truth, 557 N.E. Second Avenue, Crystal River, FL with the Pastor Elder John H. Weaver, Presiding and Bishop Leonard Smith, Eulogist. Interment will follow in the Crystal Memorial Gardens of Crystal River, FL. Jean Morse, 80 CRYSTAL RIVER
A service of remembrance for Mrs. Jean A. Morse, 80, of Crystal River, was held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2008, at the Beverly Hills Chapel of Hooper Funeral Homes. Interment followed at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida. She was born in Boston, Massachusetts and moved to Crystal River from Dartmouth, Massachusetts. She was a homemaker, a member of the Congregation of Beth Shalom and a member of B’nai Brith. She is survived by her husband, Mr. Sumner H. Morse of the home. Additional survivors include a son, Mr. Edward “Eddie” C. Morse of New York, New York; a daughter, Mrs. Judith M. Carter of N. Dartmouth, Massachusetts; a brother, Mr. David L. Elkin of Wallingford, Connecticut; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Mr. Steven D. Morse, on November 19, 1990. Hooper Funeral Home, Beverly Hills.

Frances Nina “Mrs. JP” Pearsall, 66, Long Island, NY, died Saturday, May 3, 2008, at her residence. She was born Jan. 12, 1942, in Long Island, NY, and came here in 1976. She was a former secretary for Dr. Elaine Ward. Survivors include her husband of 37 years, John “JP” Pearsall; sons, George Brisson of Crystal River and Edward Brisson of Homosassa; mother, Frances Tooker of Gulfport; brothers, Larry Tooker and Glen Tooker, both of Long Island, N.Y.; and a granddaughter, Amanda Brisson of Homosassa.
