A 17-year-old male from Inverness was arrested Monday for allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old girl, according to the Citrus County Sheriff Office.
The juvenile is facing one count of lewd and lascivious battery on someone between 12 to 16 years.
According to the teen’s arrest report, the girl said she left on a school day with the suspect in his vehicle and drove to a local park where they had sexual intercourse.
She told investigators she later returned to school and never told the school resource officer about the incident. She reportedly said she knew the teen was 17 and he also knew she was 14. She also claimed she had sex with the suspect because she felt embarrassed.
When investigators visited the suspect, he reportedly admitted to having sex with the girl. He was arrested and was to be transported to the Juvenile Detention Center in Ocala.

OMG...teenagers are having sex...omg what's next?! HELLOOOO, this has been going on since like, the beginning of TIME!
SHERIFFS OFFICE IS OUT OF CONTROL!
So now I guess, not only do I have to protect my teenage son from all the bad things in this world (drugs, guns, gangs, alcohol, etc) I have to protect him from horny 14 year old teen age girls who try to have sex with him!! WOW!! There are other avenues to take to punish both of these teenagers for this incident. But to arrest this kid?
GREAT JOB CCSO! You just ruined any kind of ambitions or career this kid might have had for his life. If I remember correctly when I was in highschool seniors were 17 years old and sophmores and freshmen were 14 years old. There were plenty of sexual relationships going on with those age differences. Heck half of them are now deputies.
I hope somebody steps in to help this kid drop these charges. The damage is done though, hes been booked and fingerprinted. He maybe lucky if he gets a job at AAA labor someday..
