On Friday evening, the spirit of the holidays came alive with the start of Floral City Heritage Days.
Luminaries lined Orange Avenue, guiding strollers through the community with carolers sharing songs and residents welcoming visitors.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, festivities will continue with Florida Folk Life Day, featuring early Florida daily living exhibits, demonstrations and the Blue Banner Tour of Historic Homes in which, for a $10 donation, visitors have an opportunity to tour the historic residences and gain insight into history.
In addition, there will be entertainment, food and exhibitions.
Visitors are encouraged to park in the Ferris Groves Field on the north side of the sales store and packing house on U.S. 41, where they can catch the free hay-wagon shuttle. This is where historic home tour tickets at $10 and barbecue tickets will be on sale.
From 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, the Floral City Heritage Museum and Country Store will be open.
