Berealistic....
I dont know you form Adam or Eve, but I love your point of veiws. You are right on! CCSO is ran by the biggest idiot in town. There are way more than enough deputys. Esp. in Crystal River. How can one say that there are not enough cops? Hello?! The must not drive down 44 or 19. If they took that money that they are buying fancy undercover cars with and used to it train their deputies better and elect a new sheriff than maybe the crime would cease. majority of the criminals only commit crimes around here becasue they hate our justice system soooo much!
We need better street patrols all around this county
Inverness is now down to six officers. Back in the 1960's that's right, 1960's we had more than 6 officers assigned to the City of Inverness. The City cut back it's funding this year and we have less officers than 40+ years ago. That's when kids drove pick up trucks to school with shotgun's hanging in the back window and crime seldom occured. Now we have to have AR15 assault rifles and Deputies have to train for active shooters.... times have sure changed and we have to wake up around here and get our act together with law enforcement and fire rescue.
We have a lot of violent crime here now, no denying it and we need to wake up and handle it properly. Why do we read articles by the CCSO that says crime is down and nothing more than feeding the alligators is the norm? Why is so much crime not reported properly and played down? Is it politics? You darn right it is.
Look at the poor old lady who died recently in the fire in Inverness, the only responding deputies were a Sgt. who works 8-5 assigned out of CCSO main building and the city of Inverness Community officer who works 8-5 out of City Hall office. God bless both of them for risking their lives for trying to save here life, but I am mad as heck that when I saw that no patrol deputies on the road responded only office personel. Are we that short?
Also 20 minutes to respond to a man holding down a nurse with a loaded gun at CMH in the center of Inverness. Is that an adequate responce time for being in the middle of town in the day time?
Sorry to inform you......
Sorry to inform you but, Sheriff Dawsy doesn't know how to run one department....the CCSO...and now the BOCC, without a vote from the residents of this great county, has made him topdog firefighter, head dogcatcher, Safety Manager, and he's also got kiddie patrol with DCF. You'd think that since he cannot control his crooked cops all over this county.....how can he control anything else? Fact is he can't! Whose already suffering? We the community! No patrols in rural outlying areas, that's why banks are getting held up and businesses are being robbed! The undercover detective Taylor was at the Regions bank doing personal business along with CSI detective Alexander when the other bank was getting robbed! What a joke man! Lady dies in fire because response time was not fast enough. What the hell is going on in this county! We are overstaffed with officers why aren't we utilizing our resources? Because Sheriff Dawsy thinks it's better to send his officers to SWAT competitions instead of utilizing their skills here! Where were they when the bank was being robbed? What skills did they learn to help arrest these individuals? Sheriff Dawsy doesn't know squat when it comes to running any of these departments and the Praise that he has been given from the Comical and his supporters is bogus! He is not doing this county any good whatsoever! The best thing Dawsy does is spend our tax dollars. He does that oh, so, well! If we allow him another term in any office we will need to declare bankruptcy. Maybe all of Dawsy's supporters are drying up and beginning to see the BIG picture and that he is not the right man for the job that they thought he could do!

Drugs higher Priority than Safety of businesses or Residents!
Sheriff Dawsy has publicly announced how safe you are in Citrus County! Well, We all know how he creates his own truths! Wonder what he had to say to Taylor, undercover cop, and Alexander, crime scene investigator when he arrived at the scene Thursday? What kind of questions were these guys asking? What a crappy description....it could match a lot of people! Was there no video evidence? Did the bank have any security cameras even on the ATM? Dawsy wants the publics help but, don't want to release any info. If he'd release a little bit and hold some back maybe the public can help catch these guys. Dawsy doesn't really want our help because he needs to look like he is at the top of his game and that's all it is.....a game. Don't hate the players hate the game! While Sheriff Dawsy is out promoting this safe haven in Florida, business are being robbed and he should be expecting more in this economy! Drugs get more of Dawsy's attention then do other more softer crime does! Of course, the state and the CCSO makes more money off of drug crime because these people are repeat offenders. Users and dealers both re-offend because this is a vicious cycle. Dealers like the money and the users like the high! What is Dawsy going to do when Florida legalizes marijuanna? How is he going to finance his empire? So, when is he going to consider ending the harassment of businesses and residents? When is he going to take the safety of the community as his first priority because you're not as safe as he says and it is going to get worse before it gets any better? People outside of Citrus County look at us as a community of inbreeds! They believe businesses and banks are easier marks because of lack of patrols, separate police departments, over abundance of elderly people, and with the lack of growth throughout this county it is an ideal place to hide and escape. Why do you think they picked Floral City? It's way out in no mans land and it's 15 minutes to the Sumter line or Hernando County line! CCSO hardly ever patrols out that way during the daytime and there isn't much traffic. Why this day? Because one, it was a cold morning and clothing wouldn't be noticed as much, and two, the cold weather probably kept customers at home until after it warmed up and three it's getting close to Christmas and some people don't have money. Crime always rises the closer it gets to Christmas and New Year. Crime rises, also, around other holidays, too!
In fact, several months ago I urged readers to take precautions against an ever rising crime rate because the Citrus County Board doesn't want to create jobs here in Citrus and when they do they are minimum wage jobs that a single person cannot live off of. Along with this fact, many Republican Florida business owners have put a freeze on hiring anyone until Obama is replaced. How stupid can people really be out there? Apparently really stupid because they are out there doing this stuff which is putting the country in greater jeopardy than their own hate! Citrus County has a high unemployment rate and offers no basic industry in the area with above average income. Therefore, this is creating a perfect storm for crime! I warned readers early in the year of this disatrous epidemic that is plaguing our county! Many people are out of work, and this is not counting neighboring counties, which is causing a spike in welfare applications and unemployment filings. Therefore, many are getting turned down and some of these people don't have family close enough to help them out. They cannot afford their mortgages, they are out of a job, and they don't know what they are going to do next. So, what do they do? They turn to criminal activity to survive! Until, we can make major changes in our government and allow the President to do his job we will continue to see crime like this!

Where are all the Employees of Dawsy Now???
All the people that bash Brealistic on this site are nowhere to be found, now! Why? Because you ignorant people that consolidated all the police services into one department in Lecanto have left the outlying areas of Citrus County more susceptible to crime. The crime in Crystal River, Inverness, & Lecanto is more patroled and more contained. The outlying areas of Citrus Springs, Floral City, and Homosassa are prime areas in which crime is going to grow. These are rural areas without regular patrols, without many businesses especially with cameras to aide in crime prevention, and they are areas close to borders of other counties. So, crime isn't just coming from within Citrus borders it is possible that we are experiencing an influx in crime from other counties as well because these rural areas have become targets for criminal activity. If we would allow growth in the county this might help develop the area therefore increase housing and bringing a more family atmosphere that will deter criminal behavior. Do you have a Sheriff that supports this or his own ego? We have plenty of officers doing nothing, like the swat team out on training expeditions, that should be out patroling these areas. With increased police presence in rural areas will reduce crimes like this. I have considered this to be an inside job, as well, and have contemplated the time of the robbery at 11 a.m. This is an odd time. Why would they choose this time? Was this after a delivery? All local businesses have finished making morning deposits? Where's the follow-up story from the Chronicle? Do they have any leads? Whose car was found in the cemetary? Where did those leads pan out? Was it stolen? What were the means of get-a-way? On foot or by bicycle? Many unanswered questions that aren't very well addressed in this article and apparently this isn't a high priority for the CCSO because of lack of communications with the media outlets. CCSO has an information officer, what is she doing to communicate these needs to the public? I'll tell you, sitting on her butt and saying NO Comment, we cannot disclose that information at this time because it is an on-going investigation. Are they investigating the employee's? I think they should be! How are they going to combat the rise in crime in rural areas of Citrus? What preventative measures are going to be implemented to keep businesses safe? I'm not hearing how great the CCSO is now? I'm not hearing King Dawsy's plan to prevent future crime and how safe this county is now? Where are all his minions on here telling us how great the CCSO is and how they are the best.
Swift action needed to be taken to get a lead on these people. Undercover officer Taylor and Crime Scene Investigator Alexander were delayed doing personal business on company & tax payer time. Sheriff Dawsy was where? Was he wearing one of those other 5 hats, as Head Dog Catcher? It matters because the response to the call was delayed until the heirarchy was in place at the scene & then to get organized etc., etc., They lost valuable time which prevented a possible capture of suspects. They started out behind and remain behind trying to catch up! Is Sheriff Dawsy wearing too many hats? What are his actual priorities? I believe he has lost sight of the real goal & was pushed into this consolidation and is now finding it much more stressful than he ever figured it to be in Citrus County. Think the BOCC and the rest made a very bad decision to allow a consolidation of many government entities making the Sheriff responsible for too many divisions which is creating a backdraft. I am assured this case will be closed within three months or so, maybe?
