Driver dies in single-vehicle accident in Sumter County

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, a fatal accident occurred at 10:08 p.m. Friday on County Road 48 in Sumter County.

Bradley Walker, 27, of Inverness, was fatally injured as he drove a 2001 GTI Volkswagen eastbound.

For unknown reasons, the vehicle traveled onto the south shoulder of the roadway. Walker over-corrected and drove back across the roadway and onto the north shoulder. Once on the north shoulder, the vehicle collided with a tree and came to a rest.

Walker received fatal injuries in the collision and died at the scene.
