Four-year-old Madalyn Ringle cups her hands to catch artificial snow flurries Friday evening during the Crystal River Christmas Tree Lighting Festival at Little Springs Park behind City Hall. The festival included bounce houses, horseback rides, face painting, live music, train rides, a puppet show and complimentary light refreshments for the children of cookies, punch and hot chocolate served by the Pilot Club of Crystal River. Crystal River Mayor Jim Farley recited “A Visit from St. Nicholas” prior to Santa’s arrival on a fire truck. The hosts for the three-hour festival were the city and Pilot Club of Crystal River. The event was sponsored by the Citrus County Chronicle.
