­Workshop on Yulee sidewalks slated

A town hall meeting has been scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 31, at the Homosassa Library, 4100 S. Grandmarch Ave. Commissioner John “JJ” Kenney and representatives of Cardno-TBE, the project engineers, will present information on the Yulee Drive sidewalk project, which is proposed to run from Central Street to U.S. 19. 

The proposed sidewalk is about 2.8 miles in length and is funded by the Florida Department of Transportation and administered by Citrus County under the Local Agency Program. 

This public meeting is to present the project area and take public comment and input regarding the sidewalk project. All citizens are welcome to attend. For questions, call Walt Eastmond at 352-527-5446.


Vets Week committee to meet July 16

The Veterans Appreciation Week Ad Hoc Coordinating Committee will have its monthly coordination meeting for Citrus County’s 22nd annual Veterans Appreciation Week at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, in the conference room of the Citrus County Chronicle, 1624 N. Meadowcrest Blvd., Crystal River.

All veteran service organizations are encouraged to send representatives to participate in the planning process. Individual veterans are also welcome.

Save Waters Week meeting set July 21

The Citrus 20/20 Inc. Save Our Waters Week Committee will meet at 10 a.m. Monday, July 21, Room 219 of the Lecanto Government Building, 3600 West Sovereign Path, located off of County Road 491. 

The purpose of the meeting is to plan and coordinate activities for Citrus County’s 19th annual Save Our Waters Week, Sept. 20 to 27. All interested organizations and individuals are welcome to attend and encouraged to participate.

Clinic accepting health care enrollments

The Lecanto VA Clinic is currently accepting health care enrollments and registrations. 

VA enrollment qualifies as Minimum Essential Coverage under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). New patient appointments for primary care and mental health are available. 

The clinic is at 2804 W. Marc Knighton Court, Lecanto (next to Black Diamond). Clinic hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday; closed federal holidays.
