Effective Friday, Aug. 1, 2014, state Rep. Jimmie T. Smith’s district office will be moving to the Inverness Government Center. The new location will be open for business effective Monday, Aug. 4. The address is 212 W. Main St., Suite 208 A, Inverness, FL 34450.

Voter registration deadline nears for primary

The deadline to register to be eligible to vote in the upcoming primary election or change your party affiliation is Monday, July 28. Voter registration applications are available at the Inverness and Crystal River Supervisor of Elections Offices, local government agencies, libraries, post offices, Citrus County Walgreens stores and online at www.votecitrus.com. The 2014 primary election is Tuesday, Aug. 26.

Inverness qualifying runs Aug. 4 to 8

Qualifying for the Inverness City Council and mayor ballot will run from noon Monday, Aug. 4, to noon Friday, Aug. 8.

Seats 1, 3 and 5, as well as the mayoral seat, are eligible for candidates for the Nov. 4 election. Successful candidates will take office Dec. 2, 2014. 

Early voting for the city election is Thursday, 

Oct. 23, through Saturday, Nov. 1.

League to register voters at Daystar

The League of Women Voters of Citrus County will register voters from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, at Daystar Life Center, 6751 W. Gulf-to-Lake Highway, Crystal River.
