Workshop teaches gardening principles

Citrus County Florida-Friendly Landscaping will offer a free gardening workshop on from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 10.

The University of Florida developed the nine basic principles to establish a set of gardening practices, which aid gardeners in creating sustainable and successful gardens.

These practices allow gardeners to create beautiful landscapes generating little or no impact on water resources.

Selection of the right plant for the right location, efficient irrigation, proper fertilization and responsible pest management are several of the topics discussed during this workshop.

The class will be at the Citrus County Extension Service building, 3650 W. Sovereign Path, Lecanto.

Contact Steven Davis at 352-527-5708 to confirm participation.
