I recently saw Mr. Smith, who was referred to me for anemia and mildly elevated WBC (white blood cell) count. He has no fever but feels very tired.
Anemia is a very common condition. One of the common myths is that anemia means low iron. It is true that many patients have anemia due to low iron, but that is not the only cause. Anemia can be due to many different conditions.
