Guitarist Richard Gilewitz to perform at Art Center

Fingerstyle guitarist Richard Gilewitz will play at 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at Art Center Theater. A meet-and-greet will be at 7 p.m. 

Tickets cost $18. The concert will for last two hours with tales and tunes from his extensive worldwide touring experiences.

Citrus Community Choir to deliver ‘A Christmas Present’

The Citrus Community Concert Choir will perform its holiday season concert, “A Citrus Christmas Present,” at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, at Faith Lutheran Church, 935 S. Crystal Glen Drive, Lecanto.

This show will include a selection of traditional Christmas carols, contemporary songs of the season and an adaptation of Arcangelo Corelli’s familiar “Christmas Cantata,” with choral parts and recitatives by Richard Shephard. The cantata will be accompanied by a string ensemble to include cellist Virginia Lane, this year’s co-recipient of the choir’s annual scholarship.

Admission is $10 for adults; children 12 and younger will be admitted free.



Christmas tree to light up night at Historic County Courthouse

The Christmas program and tree lighting will be at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, in the second floor courtroom at the Historic County Courthouse. 

Entertainment includes Santa Claus, Citrus High School Chamber Choir and trio of Tom and Drema Leonard and Sally Smith-Adams.

Wood carvers annual show Saturday at fairgrounds

More than 60 artists will display their wares at the annual Wood Carvers Show on Saturday, Dec. 1, at the auditorium at Citrus County Fairgrounds.

Artwork will include wooden carvings and turnings. Doors will open at 9 a.m. Door prizes and raffles will be available. Hot dogs, chili, snacks and drinks will be available.

Play ‘Win, Lose or Die!’ with Encore Ensemble

Encore Ensemble Theatre will perform the play “Win, Lose or Die!” this weekend at the Beverly Hills Lions Club, 72 Civic Circle, in Beverly Hills.

Performances will be at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, and Saturday, Dec. 1, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2. Tickets including dinner cost $25. Seating is by reservation only.

Heritage Days arrive in southern Citrus County

Floral City Heritage Days will be this weekend off Orange Avenue.

On Friday, carols and candles will be on Orange Avenue and the Lions Club will host a fish fry 5:30 to 9 p.m. Friday. 

Saturday is Folk Life and Living History Day. The Blue Banner Tour of Historic Homes will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
